• How long did it take you to put together the timeline?

It took me about two weeks to fully flesh out the timeline. There was a lot of details laid out in A Twisted Fate that helped me to put everything in order.

• Why isn't Evangeline in this one?

Evangeline is not in this one because it is meant to tell the back story of everyone that helped her. What all brought them to that place at that time. Why Eddie is as callus as he is. Why Angel is as withdrawn as he is. Why Benzi is so bound to his duty. Why Loyce is so angry. Just to put everything outside of Evangeline into perspective. 

• So Caieta is a witch? Why does her family leave the council? And how do they find her mom and dad but not her?

Yes, Caieta is a witch. Her family left the Council after her father realized that the Gifted One had been born and Tannin's plans to devour the earth came to light. That wasn't mentioned in this book, it was said in A Twisted Fate. Her father was found out because he didn't give up his magic like his family did and he was caught using. That's why they checked Caieta and her mother, but their was no magic in their system. However, Caieta's mother did get found out through means that are not quite clear or revealed. But they assume that Caieta doesn't know about her witchly origin but did suspect that she is suspicious of the Leadership for her parents death. Which they are.

• What made August - or Tannin - snap and kill Amena?

They were talking about what Angel found in the library, the series of books that revealed that the Leadership was truly the ones who pushed for war. To Amena they could use that to reveal the Leadership's cruelty. But not to August. He wanted to the Leadership completely gone. So did Amena, in a way, which is what drew August to her in the first place, she wanted the same things he did. What he didn't know was that she put together that he was a Warlock. She didn't know he was Tannin, the Warlock King. But when she revealed that she knew that information while they were whispering, she was no longer she wife. He was no longer August. He was Tannin protecting himself and his secret mission. 

• Does everyone receive a medal of sacrifice?

Just about everyone does. If someone in your family dies while "honoring the Leadership" in any way you receive a medal. This is less so much a reward as it is a reminder that you live within the Leadership and as a Hunter there will be many sacrifices that you have to make. You HAVE to, without question, makes these sacrifices.

• Did Benzi kill Mia? And how did he get the other family there so quickly and cooperatively?

Presumably Benzi did kill Mia and her family. He inserted a family from witness projection into her house. That wasn't made clear but from Eddie's perspective he wouldn't know that.

• Why did Loyce kill her boyfriend verses just leaving the Leadership?

Loyce, first and foremost, is a Huntress. She was since the day she was born. She is bound to her duty. Leaving with him would be desertion. And with a Warlock no less. She physically wasn't able to do anything else. However, his death - or murder - is what shook her from that trance. She wouldn't know it yet but from that moment on she was no longer a Huntress. That she why she was so "easily" able to begin helping Evangeline.

• Is this the sequel to A Twisted Fate that you were talking about?

Well, yes... and no. There are still many things to come so wait up!
