• Where did the idea come from?

The idea came in  a dream, as they often do, and immediately I got to writing all the pieces of jumbles ideas down in words.

• Do you see yourself as Ire?

Mmm. Not really. I guess, in a way an author can see themselves in all of their characters but I can't really say that I see myself as Ire specifically. She is strong and smart in ways that I don't see myself as. She does have the weight of a whole country on her shoulders. 

• How long did it take you to put together the timeline?

It took me a couple months to really flesh out the timeline. There was a lot of details that I needed to be sure that I got right. It's not quite clear yet there is one large overarching timeline.

• Got any recommendations for books I can read while I’m waiting for the next novel to come out?​​

I think the Selection Series would be a good read if you liked something like this. Ooh! Or the Lunar Chronicles.
